2015 Hajj: Commission Allocates 76,000 Seats To 36 States, Others

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Thursday said it had allocated 76,000 Hajj seats to the 36 states of the federation and other statutory agencies.

The commission stated this in a statement issued in Abuja by Alhaji Uba Mana, its Media Director.

The commission stated that the seats were allocated to the states as well as the FCT and the Nigerian Armed Forces as part of preparations for 2015 Hajj operations.

According to the commission, a total of 76,000 seats have been approved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Nigeria for the 2015 Hajj operations.

It stated that 66,000 were allocated to the 36 states, FCT and Armed Forces, while the remaining 10,000 were set aside for international pilgrims (Tour Operators).

However, the commission directed prospective pilgrims to contact their various state pilgrims welfare agencies to pay for the seats and for other necessary arrangements.

It also urged states to give priority to prospective pilgrims embarking on the holy journey for the first time.

It called on the agencies to consider their health conditions during the sale of the seats, as requested by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. (NAN)
