Ex- Plateau Speaker, Reps Member Defect To APC


Ahead of Saturday’s elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered another set back following the defection of former gubernatorial aspirant of the party, Hon. John Clark Dabwan and a serving member of the House of Representatives, Hon.Aminu Jonathan to the All Progressives Congress(APC).

The ruling PDP in the state had earlier lost some of its governorship aspirants to the APC shortly after the party’s primaries including former Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, Prof. Longmas Wapmuk and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof. Sonny Tyoden who is now the running mate of APC governorship candidate,Barr.Simon Lalong.

Besides,both the governorship candidates of Labour Party and Mega Party, Amb.Bagudu Hirse and Mrs Elizabeth Yirse respectively had a couple of days ago, renounced their gubernatorial ambitions and pledged their support for the APC candidate.

In the latest gale of defections, Hon.John Clark Dabwan, a former speaker of the state House of Assembly who is currently representing Mangu South constituency has defected to APC including the Deputy National Youth Coordinator of PDP,Dr Gingina Nassa to join the APC at a ceremony held at the NUT Hall in Mangu LGA of the state yesterday.
