African Champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria will now battle their Malian counterparts on friday April 10, 2015 for the return leg of the 11th All Africa Games at the National Stadium Abuja.
According to the Nigerian Football Federation(NFF) General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the Malian Football Federation had been notified of the shift in date.
It would be recalled that Confederation of African Football(CAF), in charge of the organization of the football tournaments for the AAG had given it’s blessings to Nigeria to host the match between April10-12.
Super Falcons played a 1-1 draw with the Mali senior women’s team a fortnight ago in the first leg of the encounter played in Mali.
This crucial second leg encounter would guarantee the eventual winner a place for the women’s football tournament at the AAG to be hosted by Congo-Brazaville in September this year.
Meanwhile Falcons had resumed camping after a brief holiday occasioned by the 2015 Presidential elections. About 25 players last monday hit the Abuja camp with early arrivals including Belarus based Esther Sunday and US based defender, Osinachi Ohale.
