KIdnapped Wamakko’s Brother Regains Freedom

The younger of Sokoto State Governor Aliyu Wamakko and District Head of Wamakko, Alhaji Salihu Barade who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen from his farm three days ago has been freed by his adbductors.

Although it could not be ascertained if any ransom was paid tomorrow secure his release, we learnt that his abductors were Fulanis who had made series of failed attempts at kidnapping him before now.

The 60-year-old Baraden Wamakko and counsellor at the Sultanate Council reportedly showed up at the private residence of the state governor, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko at about 8pm  last night.

It would be recalled that some unknown gunmen numbering about four stormed the livestock farm of governor Wamakko’s younger brother and kidnapped him alongside a former education secretary (ED) of the local government area, Alhaji Ango Garba, who was later freed around Walijam Forest, close to Gwandu in Kebbi State.

Effort to reach the  family of the Baraden Wamakko on the release of their kinsman was not successful at time of filing this report
