Voters safe in Rivers, says Amaechi

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has assured the electorate in the state that his administration has taken all necessary steps to ensure their safety and security during today’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Amaechi, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), yesterday in Port Harcourt, enjoined Rivers people to come out en masse to cast their votes and report all forms of lawlessness and acts contrary to the Electoral Act to the security agents who, he assured, would deal with offenders, according to the provisions of the law.

The governor warned that the full weight of the law would be brought to bear on troublemakers who might attempt to disrupt the democratic process in any part of the state.

The NGF chairman reassured Rivers people of his firm commitment to their safety and well-being at all times.
