It is again, that special period of
the year for Christians all over the world and we have been very fortunate to
come through to this very special day of Christ’s birth which often not only
marks the birth of the Messiah but also signals to us that the year is a stone
throw away from its end.
Christmas is a special time to share
with our families and friends, but it is also a time for all of us to reflect
on the events of the passing year, count our blessings and make corrections
where necessary. It is a time for us to look after our own community, reach out
to the less privileged, visit a neighbour who might be alone during the holidays,
pray and celebrate with our community’s unsung heroes, who quietly go about
their business of keeping us safe and secure, etc.
I am always impressed by the
generosity of IMOLITES towards others, and this year has once again been no
exception. The scale and variety of the charitable and voluntary work in IMO
STATE is truly amazing, and demonstrates the very special character of the
people of this State.
While we value the excellent work of Imolites,
we must also endeavor to invest more in our young generation and to help those
who have lost their way to get back on track.
As we approach 2018, let us enjoy the
spirit of the Christmas season and remember that respect and kindness to others
will last all year round.
Our hope and prayer for the New Year
is that 2018 will be even more successful as we work together with Government,
businesses and of course the residents of the Imo State to ensure that we all
continue to contribute to the growth of our state and Nigeria at large.
We wish each and every one of you a
joyous, safe, merry and relaxing Christmas and a happy and prosperous New
Year with every best wish for a fulfilling 2017.
Thank you!
