Donate directly to poor people, MASSOB pleads with donors

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra has called on donors in the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones to do so directly to their people.

MASSOB argued that passing cash and food items through the governors of the states to help the poor and vulnerable people in the two zones would not achieve the aim of such donors.

The movement’s Director of Information, Sunday Okereafor, said this on Tuesday, noted that governors were not sincere enough to get the largesse to the poor masses.

He said, “We have heard of donors from the South-East and the South-South donating millions and billions of naira and food items to the poor people through the governors.

“The governors and the senators in the South-East and the South-South are not sincere. The people who donated the money should go to their communities and give their people the money.

“It is better than giving government billions of naira because it will not reach the people. The poor masses are dying of hunger and the government will not give the people the money donated.”
