Tragedy strikes as building collapses, kills child in Anambra

Part of a building located at 47 Modebe Street, Onitsha, Anambra state has collapsed, killing a child

The collapsed portion is the lintel attachment to an existing structure.

After the collapse, officials of the State Physical Planning Board led by the Acting General Manager, Mr Nwabufo Anene and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Monitoring & Supervision on Lands and Physical Planning, Mrs Joy Nneli, visited the site, sealed and marked it for demolition.

Consequently, the developer of the collapsed structure was arrested by the police for prosecution. More heartbreaking photos below....
